I think I'm preaching to the choir when I say COVID has made things pretty tough. Every part of the daily routine is shaken up. Things taken to be normal are no longer there. It is not easy to cope. It is hard enough to deal with change in my experience on the spectrum, let alone change to every aspect of life. Living environments became work environments, and alone time can be virtually non-existent in quarantine. The stability we once relied on to anchor our thoughts crumbled overnight. So, what do we do?

Find stuff to do! Create a routine. The old routine is never truly going to be the same. And while that can be incredibly difficult to accept, the greatest move I have made is towards creating an inner stability while the world continues spinning fast around me. All experiences are different and what has worked for me may not work for others, but there will be new anchors for you to find in life. There is no good way to process the trauma of this pandemic, and it is especially hard for those of us who are not equipped for change to begin with. The only way through is forward, and this time, we're all in it together. No matter your individual experience, we need to lean on each other through these times.
